How much would you try to sell these for?

I'm going to try and sell some tokens this evening at our local coin club meeting.
I was thinking about asking $1.00 for the small tokens and $2.00 for the Large ones.
How far off base am I with those prices? Too high or too low.

I came across some tokens a couple of years back and put them in our coin club auction and they ended up selling for $7-8 each. I only had a few but I sure wish I had more!

  • Those look cool!!

I have no idea what fair value for those is, but I suspect $1 to $2 may be low, especially for the ones that look BU or with luster. Perhaps someone else on the boards will know.
  • Hello all,

At a recent show (that I went to), they were selling tokens for ~$3-$5. $1-$2 is probably too low, they look interesting & you should have some margin to knock-off for your dealer buyers.

I'd give you the world, just because...

Speak to me of loved ones, favorite places and things, loves lost and gained, tears shed for joy and sorrow, of when I see the sparkle in your eye ...
and the blackness when the dream dies, of lovers, fools, adventurers and kings while I sip my wine and contemplate the Chi.
  • Does seem low maybe Altho some may be worth 1-2 bucks - others are probably worth more. You could maybe do a 'quick auction deal' for choice a 'few' times, and then sell for $1.50 - 3? dunno much about tokens.

I vote too low. Arcade tokens often sell for $2-$3 when in 2x2s and they're only 20 years old or less and not that rare. If these type of tokens have a following, you should at least be able to get a little more. You probably should search the web a little to see if these token types have been valued before dumping them and maybe regreting it later. Who knows, some may be worth a lot! It's possible.

I just wanted to point out that you have a token from the city transit in my hometown. (Fond du Lac, WI)
In the second picture there are two tokens that have a W cut out of them, one at the top of the page and another on the upper left.
Kinda cool, my grandparents gave me one of those tokens last christmas as a gift. I didn't realize they had any collector value. I just threw it in a 2x2 because I thought it was neat to have a piece of hometown history in my collection.
