The Savannah Scammer has moved to Overstock.com

Snappy Auctions refused to sell any more of their coins, so now they've moved to Overstock.com. Still running the same old garbage with the same old pics. It would be great if anyone here who has an Overstock ID and a couple of minutes would click on the link below and go to the bottom of the page to the "Report this user" link and give Overstock some background on this seller.

It's not. eBay is a venue. If someone were selling fakes out of a local newspaper, would it be that newspaper's fault? If they were selling at a fleamarket, would it be the fairground's fault?
In this particular instance, and in an extremely small minority of sellers, eBay has been too slow to stop the sales. But we tend to forget that the entire online selling marketplace is still in its infancy, and a company with 100 million sellers and billions of auctions is bound to have some growing pains.

Don't get me wrong...I'm not blaming anyone except the Donnellys here. Personally, I just want to see any scammer stopped, regardless of their venue, and pjd1966 is one of the worst.

If those venues continued to allow the scumbag to advertise their wares through their services after dozens and dozens of fraud complaints, of course they would be at fault for their negligence.

I still have yet to purchase at overstock auctions. I know one seller I'll avoid!

I asked them to review this seller's past history on eBay and see if that's the type of seller they want on their auction site.
I will be interesting to see what action they take if any.
If they can learn from the mistakes of eBay, they may gain an edge and truly win over honest internet traders.

Although much of their response appears to be in a form letter format, It appears they did take some time to read the letter I wrote and their return reply was "personalized".
At least here when you try to communicate, they have the decency to reply back and appears as if someone is listening! Here is their reply:
<< <i>Dear Terry,

I beg to differ.
When numerous PROVABLE instances of fraud are reported to them through their Security Center, their Paypal affiliate, and the IFFCFBI, and they choose not to act, they become complicit by allowing this fraudulent activity to continue. This is compounded by the fact that they also profit by the commissions they make on the listing, and transaction fees.
They may elect to try to maintain a third party venue relationship, but this would work if they had adequate security measures in place and enforced their own policies.
Sure, Internet Auctions are in it's infancy, but without tightening up the loopholes on obvious fraudulent activity, this is one infant that won't ever see maturity IMO.

Don't know what Overstock's policy is about such matters. Listed in "coins", title says "coin", description says "coin".
New collectors, please educate yourself before spending money on coins; there are people who believe that using numismatic knowledge to rip the naïve is what this hobby is all about.

Personally, I opt for stupidity. Let's face it, it's only the stupid criminals who get caught. Arrogance and greed can be chalked up to stupidity. The intelligent ones never get found out, stop when they've made some money, and move on before anyone can get suspicious.
Edited to fix quote and spelling (not an easy morning).

I'll call him this weekend and discuss it with him.
<< <i>This looks like her auction, but I didn't see any coins listed yet. New ID created March 3. I've seen her sell this copy of a Wolrd Series sign under the PJD1966 name several times before. Even the text looks familar.Estatedoctor >>
She ran 21 coin auctions for a week. I have had some communication with the winner of the bogus proof coin and she won't be getting her money for it. She has nothing listed now, so maybe she's trying some other site. These very well may be hers. The coins were what got her booted. Maybe she's hoping to unload the coins somewhere else and stick with eBay for the rest of her junk.

Do estates typically have multiples of the exact same items? Maybe I'm getting too cynical.
Oh, and pjd1966 has no auctions running at overstock.com, and feedback is still zero. Wonder what happened?

She claims to be new to eBay yet she has over 200 items for sale. That's fairly odd behavior for a brand new ebayer. Drill back a few pages and you will start seeing the cheap costume jewelry listed as gold. Maybe she thinks if she stays away from fake coins for awhile we won't notice.
Looks like it's going to take a jail cell to stop Pam and Jim once and for all. These people are a threat and MUST be stopped!!
