Couch Cushion Find

Hey Folks

i was doing some spring cleaning today(I live with 3 other college students and needless to say the house was a disaster zone) While vacuuming under and around the couches I pulled off all of the cushions and to my suprise I cam up with 89 cents. I just threw it into my pocket and continued vacuuming the rest of the house.

Neat thing is that when I went to throw them into my change jar, after inspecting each coin closely of course, I noticed that one of the quarters was silver LUCKY ME!

Its a 1963-D, Looks like it was colored blue at one point and the edges of all the designs and lettering on the coins have a blue outline to them.
I know this is really no big deal to anybody, but it put a smile on my face for a few moments.

When I was a kid I lived in Colorado Springs and mom would take us to Ross auction house where I would spend hours each tuesday slinking my hands down the cushions of many a coach and reclyner.I was around eight and I had the collector bug back then and believe me I would come out of there with many buffalos and mercs and even some walkers and franklins.I dont do that anymore but you know maybe......

I wish I would have had a roommate like you. Sometimes we got lucky and one of the girlfriends would get sick of it and clean up a little. When our place needed spring cleaning, we moved.

The roommates probably salted that silver there to get you to clean more often!!!

Cheap way for them to get out of cleaning as you are likely to want to hoard it all yourself and do all the cleaning yourself

Heh, ya the girlfriends do the bulk of the cleaning.

I actually came home to one of them doing my dishes and laundry cause she noticed it was piling up!
Wasn't my girlfriend either. GOTTA LOVE THAT!!!!

I am 34 and actually got a buffalo nickel back in change at McDonalds once. I've landed the occasional silver dime or quarter before, but that was the only time I ever got a buffalo nickel.
