Tampa show find....Spiked shoulder PEACE VAM

Not a whole lot to pick thru at the Tampa show.Was hoping to locate a couple Top 50 VAMs.

Although I wasn't sure if this was a listed variety or not I figured it was worth bid.Turned out to be a "Spiked Shoulder" VAM

The updated VAM list shows 2 different varieties, not sure which one this is. Maybe someone here does?

Is there a difference between this "spiked shoulder" and a clash die coin?
Can anybody post them side by side?

The pic on the right is a clashed die 1922 of mine.

This is a very common clash mark on Peace Dollars. Not too many dates/varieties command a premium, but a nice coin nonetheless.

While on the subject of Top 50 VAMS, does anyone have a good idea what the premium would be for a '28S VAM 3 in NGC MS64? They (1928 S Peace) are bid at $900 in the greysheet. NGC shows 1 in 64 and 1 in 65.

I don't think there is or should be much of a premium at all.I came across quite a few at the FUN show.You should be able to pick one up at ask since they seem to be readily available.

For Peace $ anyway, it's the large die breaks that command a good premium. There are some exceptions of course.
