Here's an Ebay newbie with an odd bidding strategy

Each day he "renews" his bid, even though nobody else has bid in the interim.

That kind of bidding is an open invitation to a shill or anyone else that just wants to run up the price.

He is just not sure of the price so he keeps increasing his max bid. Since he is bidding against him/herself it wont increase the item price. Look who they are bidding against.

I just did a small test bid, and was outbid by proxy. I wonder if each bid they've placed has been higher than previous?

You can't place a bid on eBay for less than a prior placed bid; you can only increase it.

not a shill, just want QSL cards real bad and doesn't know to bid.
  • image I have done this myself after doing a little research and particurlaly on a coin that is similar to one that I just missed on in the past...note the bid does not go up when you update your own secret max bid!

No they're not blank. It's one of a closet-full of shoeboxes full of buro cards. Every card is made out to me. I don't understand why someone else wants them, but like many things, apparently there's a market for them.

I also have some extra DXCC endorsement stickers (up to 345), but I think I would get grief if I listed them image
BTW, RR, what's your callsign? If you prefer, feel free to PM me.

With a few more bidders, you can get a better idea of dawn's "strategy" now:
