Which 13-s Lincoln do you think is better?

Number 1
Number 2
Keep in mind the ANR picture is blown up a lot more so the spots probably don't look as bad in a smaller photo. I was planning to place a bid of $1500 or so on the ANR one until I saw Ira's. Now I'm not sure which one I should get. I have no idea is the ANR one would possibly cost a lot less than $1500 or if that wouldn't even be enough.

I think Iras is better looking but its hard to tell from the pics. Iras seems darker more close to RB than the other coin but it has some glow and seems to have fewer distracting problems. The ANR coin is a lock RD so I would really have to see Iras coins color before making a final choice.

Hard to say one way or the other on those ANR pix...their 13-S doesn't look nice but I looked at some of the other Lincolns and all the pix are massively washed out looking. The spots look like they would be at least somewhat detracting in any light, though.

Ira's coin looks very solid, and he has a good eye for Lincolns.

I know I'm not telling you anything you don't already know...but early mintmarked Lincolns have been developing some very healthy price spreads within the grade on MS64RD and better pieces..."getting a bargain" is rarely a good thing.

Yeah, so many of the pcgs 64rd coins are not nice coins or not even really red. Some dates like 13-s or 16-s can still be had in a pcgs 64rd holder for $800 but the true red nice ones are always like $1500-$2500!

Ira’s photo is better and more natural. Both coins seem to have a dark spot on the obverse around the neck, but not too distracting. I seem to think I see a bit of a finger print on the reverse of the second coin. Its about 1/4 of the coin between 9 and 12 o'clock. My reverse image would not magnify. Maybe it’s because this print would come out stronger and therefore they do not have the imagining on?

Go with Ira. If the coin sucks, he will take it back.

The surfaces are nicer on the ANR IMO under the spots, but I doubt that pcgs will want it in one of their 65 slabs because the spots dominate and detract. I think Ira is suggesting a crackout is in order on his.

I would much rather have the eBay coin. The spots on the ANR coin, though small, would drive me bananas. I am a little concerned about the spot above L in Liberty on the eBay coin...that might annoy me, too.

has Number 2 cleaned? The color does not look natural AT ALL and it looks as if it's covered with tiny brown specks. If I were buying...I'd take the eBay 13-S....hands down.

The image in the ANR auction is terrible. I suspect the coin looks 100 times better in person and I'll also bet the coin has more red than the eBay coin.

However, I did buy a coin from iras4 some time ago and I'll admit it's very high end for the grade. Ira is a true asset to ebay in my book.

In this case, I wouldn't be able to choose between the two without having both in hand.
