Completed my merc set today, with this old worn out coin . What do you think.

    Other than wear, your 16 D looks like a nice example. I'm not up on grading Mercs, but one of the coin shops I visit had a raw 16 D in G-6 and was asking $750 for it the other day. I didn't even look at it though. Is this a fair going price for them ? image

    Really close in conditon to mine. I got mine out of change about 50 years ago so be happy with that one. There just ain't that many around no more.

    16'D Mercs in lower grades haven't really gone anywhere in years in terms of price. $750 in G6 seems about right IMO.

    Oh by the way did you notice the reverse is about 10 degrees off from the front. I'm sure you did. I've got all my Merc dimes in Whitman folders where you can see the front and backs. It really makes me mad when the fronts are all lined up and the reverses are all over the place. I've got 8 sets of those and about 30 % of all the dimes are like that.

    I did notice that the rev is off from the obv. I did a little horse trading and $45.00 cash .they were aking $465.00 It's anacs ag3.

    Nice job finishing the set! My wife, MrsSpud, completed hers a little while back with an ANACS slabbed AG3 also. Of course she still looks for upgrades for a few of them, and she doesn't have the 42 over 41s....

    I agree,

    It may be AG, but its nice, original and problem free, not to mention certified as genuine. Looks nicer than most of the lower grade examples.

    Mazel Tov. Nice AG coin.

    750 for G6, if accurately graded, is pretty decent. G4 seems to be fetching that or close pretty regularly.
