For informations sake, who on earth is Wyon and why are his peices special? I know absolutely nothing about him/them.

Actually, there was a whole family of Wyons. The dynasty is renowned for having produced some of the finest works of medallic art -- including coins -- in British history. (Pistrucchi fans debate the point.) It's late, so I'll let someone more awake do the honors of filling you in better.
