    You're ruining the curve, Russ ... you are about reaching the point where we will need to withhold the you sucks unless they are DCAMs...

    Quoting "Scar" in "The Lion King":

    "Life's not fair, for I........, I shall never be King" [in my world I will never be King of 1964 AH Cameo Kennedies, in fact I will never be a prince, duke, earl, knight, squire, page, archbishop, bishop, priest or even altar boy, I fear I will be a lowly commoner, serf or cleaner of privy vaults].

    Enough of my pity party,.........................Russ, please answer the obligatory questions that go along with my accolades, kudos, tips of the hat, SAWEEEETs, and DAYUMMMMMMMMMMMMs:
    #1. what do you think your new Cameo AH six-pack will receive gradewise [if you submit them] CAMDCAM and numerical grades?;
    #2. Where did you find the 9 proof sets (separately or in a single acquistion)?;
    #3. How much did the nine sets cost you?;
    #4. What do you think the value of the Cameo AH six pack is?;
    #5. Any cameo minors in the sets?;
    #6. Any toners in the sets?;
    #7. How do you think this Cameo AH six pack will impact the 1964 AH pops in CAM and in DCAM? and
    #8. How many raw Cameo 1964 AH proofs have you acquired in your hunt for same and how many of those you have found have ended up in slabs?

    Inquiring minds want to know.

    Great pick up BTW.

    Randy,

    I agree. I think a cameo one of these needs to grade PR68CAM (pop top) in order to earn a "YOU SUCK". None of these will grade that high. DCAMS, of course, are automatic. image

    SanctionII,

    #1. what do you think your new Cameo AH six-pack will receive gradewise [if you submit them] CAMDCAM and numerical grades?;

    All cameo, PR66/PR67, except that last one with the giant milk spot on the reverse.

    #2. Where did you find the 9 proof sets (separately or in a single acquistion)?;

    Single source. That's about the only way one hits 100% Accented Hairs.

    #3. How much did the nine sets cost you?;

    $117

    #4. What do you think the value of the Cameo AH six pack is?;

    $1100 to $1200

    #5. Any cameo minors in the sets?;

    A few light cams, nothing worth a second look.

    #6. Any toners in the sets?;

    No.

    #7. How do you think this Cameo AH six pack will impact the 1964 AH pops in CAM and in DCAM?

    Cameos will go up by six. None of these are DCAM.

    #8. How many raw Cameo 1964 AH proofs have you acquired in your hunt for same and how many of those you have found have ended up in slabs?

    Right around 30 with these six. Most have been submitted and slabbed.

    Russ, thanks for the answers to my questions. I feel much better now.

    PS: This group was just pure blind luck. I rarely buy "unopened" sets these days because I'm not willing to pay the prices they've been bringing. These showed up on eBay in two groups from the same seller; four at $50 BIN, and five at $60 BIN.

    Oh, and it won't do you vultures any good to look it up on eBay and contact the seller. He doesn't have any more. I checked before I posted this thread. image

    Wow, those are a great find. I wonder how many AH's in total you have found? I'm guessing about 250.
  • Great find! Had you bought from that seller before, or was it a hunch?

    I was just wondering if you could post the difference between an AH and a non AH Kennedy.

    It's north of 300. Less than half were submitted, though. Lots of these are just plain nasty junk.

    Nope, just luck! First time in a while I'd seen any sets for a reasonable price, so I grabbed them.

    40+ year old, first year issue from a popular series still being minted and currently in circulation. Only year of 90% silver circulation issue. Total mintage of fewer than 4,000,000 pieces, quite possibly made more scare by the mass meltings of the 1980s. Emotionally and historically important commemoration of both the man and his death. Proof. Plus it is a unique, intentional, and apparently rare design difference from the regular issue.

  • Yeah, you suck big time even though I'm happy for ya. But what I wanna know is how long before you single-handedly flat-out destroy the market and make PPF68 AH DCAM's so common that even I could afford one???

    Actually, I think people like you, Marty and others who look for these(and are able to actually find them!), draw attention to these coins and make them even more desirable to collectors but that's just MHO.

    Nice score - you suck!

    So how many pointed nine dimes are in the bunch? And are any of them cameo?

    All nine of them. None were cameos, though. Just some light contrast on a couple.

  • Sorry for the empty postings. Something strange happened.

    Congratulations!!!

    I have 15 of those proof sets in my house, and I have opened two of them for inspection. These sets all belong to a Wisconsin church heirloom. After what I can see, the two I have opened are AH, or has all the other typical AH varieties with the G, the stars etc.

    What is the right price for this Kennedy HD?

    Thanks.
