However, I have an idea. Try finding a Washy with a reverse that looks like the obverse on your 1957, slice both coins in half and mate the CAMDCAM obverse to the CAMDCAM reverse. Mate them in such a manner that there is no seam and in a manner whereby the reeds match up. Send it to a TPG for slabbing. If it works and the coin is holdered,.....................WAAAAAAAAAAH.........LAAAAAAAAAAH, you will have discovered the next frontier in coin doctoring. You could even be awarded a Phd. in Numismatic Metallurgy.
BTW, how does the obverse of the pictured coin compare to the 1957 quarter in your 1957 Registry Proof Set?
The newp obverse is hands down nicer than my registry coin !
If i could hook the newp ob and the old rev,you have a ? really nice coin !
REVEALED
Great coin with great obverse eye appeal and a lofty grade. did you acquire it raw and make the grade or did you pick up the coin already slabbed? Also is this an upgrade to the 57 quarter in your registry set?
NADA !
Russ, NCNE
I bought the coin from a buddy slabbed and i suspect its a click or 2 reverse from a DCAM.
he has a great eye, bought it at a show, the dealer wanted full retail for it (350.00) !
He paid 125.00 and flipped it to me for cost.
Appears im on the hook for a registry set on both sides of the street.
Proof
However,i must dis-agree,i think its a lock CAM all day long !

Then we must assume the reverse image is not accurate. It doesn't display the mirrors PCGS is requiring these days.
This one did not grade cameo:
And, it has a more contrasted reverse than your image displays.

we are dealing with apples and oranges here.
your photo skills are waaay better than mine for starts, additionally, which coin is tougher to make in CAM ?

i think silver cams are just easier than clad cams

It looks like you're right. Cameos are so rare for the clad quarters that the pop report doesn't list a single one for any year from 1978 to date.
