Do you fill this thing out? If so, what kind of info do you provide?

I don't fill it out. I refuse to tell anyone whether my collection is worth .01 or $1,000,000,000............

Great transactions with oih82w8, JasonGaming, Moose1913.

For those who have already answered that you don't know what the survey is:

Heritage Auctions sends out a "survey" every year that asks some pretty detailed questions about your collection.

What are your three most important "holdings"?
What is the value of your collection?
What is your annual coin budget?

and the like. A drawing is held and the 1st place winner gets $10,000.
2nd place can sell up to $100,000 w/out sellers commission (yeah right, like I have 100,000 worth of coins)
3rd place can sell up to $50,000 w/out sellers commission (yeah right, like I have 50,000 worth of coins)

Not me. Some of those questions are too personal, IMO.

  • I didn't fill it out because you nailed it. It is just a marketing gimmick.

The questions I wanted to see include....

What can we do to improve our service?
Did you feel sticker shock when your $450 winning bid became $566 on the invoice?
Should we open a brick and mortar in Ca. so we can justify charging Ca. state tax?
Ever wonder why our digis are so inferior?
    etc............

  • I buy a lot of collector coins from Heritage. Never seen a survey. They do keep sending me offers to list some of my coins for free though.

I got their survey this week and threw it away. They ask far to many questions
that are none of their business.

It only encourages them to make cold-calls and pretend to be your buddy. Ignore it.
