Why did San Fran go through so many dies?
Great transactions with oih82w8, JasonGaming, Moose1913.
Do you have # dies for 1878 cc quarter? I own an obverse die.

1)Phila. Mint Archives
2) Quarter-dollar dies:87 manufactured for Phila./28 for S.F./56 for Carson City
All were made in Phila. Data is for fiscal year end June 30,1878

Thanks. With a mid-year FY, you can't determine how many were dated each year.

That's right; plus you could manufacture 100 dies, but only use 60 as an example.
