Is it just me or has everyone spent so much on coins they have no money left!

Just they way it seems lately. Ebay prices seem a little down to me, and tax time and all.

For me, it is that I have no money to buy what I want. And I'm reorganizing my collection which helps. I'm going to try to convert about 40-50 coins into 1 coin in a couple of months.

I'm broke!!!!. Between FUN and Mike Defalco all my money is GONE.
  • nwcs... how are you going to convert your 40-50 coins into 1. I'm thinking of doing the same.

It's not just you. I've been on a newbie spree since last June and have reached the end of my funding. The hard part is, I did buy a few just b/c they were great deals and thought I could sell to pay for other stuff, but now I don't want to part with anything.

The other cost for me was "start-up" supplies, including books.

I'll just be in education without purchasing mode for a while. Plus I can look through the bucket of change I have with my Cherrypickers guide and maybe get lucky.

I don't know about the rest of the U.S. coins, but there are 9 pages of PCGS walkers on eBay right now and that's not good for sellers. With that much to pick from the prices are bound to fall. And most are the more common coins in common grades(MS63, 64, 65), so that makes it worse. On the other side, I've seen some of the harder to find walkers attracting premium prices... at least compared to what I am willing to pay.

  • Hell we're all broke!! Why do you think we're here milling around these threads instead of stalking the coin auctions on eBay!! image

Working on 2 large purchases in the next few weeks.

This means I will have to sell some lovely coins to make

up the shortfall. I will post pictures when the deals are compleated and paid for.

Just sell the 40-50 and use the funds to buy the 1. I'll take a loss, of course. But it's in keeping with my new strategy.
  • I have some money but not enough for what I want right now: A '09-S-VDB in a PCGS 65RD holder - I thought $5,000 would be about right, but for a nice PQ, I'm a bit short.

I can wait! Allthough if a '09-S in 65RD PQ+++ comes along for a bit over $1,000 or so, the S-VDB will have to wait!!
