    neat!
    "Have a nice day!"
  • Hmm, I think I'm offended.

Luckily for me that isn't an Irish mint issue, as it comes from the Irish equivelent of the Franklin Mint.
That and seventy five cents would get me a coke.

There is a reason it is not listed in Krause. It is not an Irish mint issue.
Also, I believe it is copper nickel and not really silver. It comes up on Ebay all the time.
    sorry,

This is a pattern coin and was never circulated. This coin and others the cat, squirrel, tree shrew and harpist were struck for the meeting of the European Council in Dublin On 25-26 June, 1990. More or less these are just trial strikes for the soon to be Irish euros. Ihave more info but it's late and it's not coming to mind image

  • Hey Lightnin... It is a cool looking issue - you like it and, most of all, your wife likes it....that makes it a good score.

OjohnO, I'm sure he didn't mean to put down all Irish issues but we each collect things that we are attracted to, that what makes this forum so interesting.....so much variety!!!

I have bought and passed on many coins the wife didn't care for. An example is Polish coins my wife is Polish and she's not crazy about any of them so I very few of those coins. She says there are "bardzo wiercenie " (very boring). She like coins with interesting things and animalsimage WL collect what you like and these trial strikes are VERY collectibleimage
