A who's who in numismatics?

Do we have anything like an equivalent of a who's who in numismatics?

How does a person who's not a dealer and doesn't attend shows get to know who the big names are? How did you?

  • Before I started collecting anything, I read a book by Scott Travers - An insiders guide to coin collecting. He mentioned and interviewed many of the dealers on the recommended list at PCGS. I didn't realize how big any of them were at the time but that is how I found out about them.

I've met a lot of people at the summer seminar at the ANA... they've introduced me to other people, and them to more. People on the boards have done the same image

Well, for starters, I'm me, and you're you.

Airplanenut is airplanenut, and you're not.

PS- Dan... have you been treating Gilty Georgie well?

Anytime you get tired of him, he's welcome to come back to Georgia. I miss him. image

He was possibly the favorite of all the coins I have owned. Definitely in my Top Three.
