Collecting cars and coins

I just started collecting coins (Buffalo Nickels), but I have always loved cars. Any one else have a older collector car hidden away in their garage? Lets see what you have.

BTW,not trying to bust yer balls, but this should probably be in the OF.
1960 Corvette with matching numbers. Red w/ white inserts. I love to take it for a drive.
It used to collect "O-o-o's and A-h-h-h's" but no more!
The name is LEE!
Yep it's a little small and I don't have batteries for it right now.
But one day, I'll take it out for a spin.....
Tom
I have that Mustang in white. No batteries but a bottle of Jim Beam. I think it's still full.
There are a lot of folks that are into coins and cars. A friend of mine who is a former Hershey Grand Champion has one of the finest paper money collections around, and plenty of other folks share both hobbies.
I wonder if people who think that coins should all be in little plastic holders agree that trailered cars suck? Ironic, if so!

I drive mine every day, rain or shine.
I couldn't stand to have it and only drive it once in a while.

He's a legend- I would be very proud.
In the past 12 years I had owned the following cars (now all gone).
It wasn't chance as to where the name "roadrunner" came from.
1968 GTX convertible 4 speed 440
1969 GTX hardtop automatic 440 (2 of them)
1969 Superbee 383 automatic
1969 roadrunner convertible 383
1969 roadrunner hardtop 383 - 4 speed
1970 Challenger RT - 440 six-pack, shaker hood
1970 Dodge Coronet RT convertible 440
roadrunner
I found about 15 Wheaties and two Mercurys inside the backseat upholstery. All common dates, but still pretty cool. Huge car --- man, if only that back seat could talk!
Old cars rule; too bad they take up so much damn room.

I owned a 1962 Studebaker GT Hawk all through college. I guess a coin collector could say that one was in VF-30 or XF-40 shape. I paid $1300 for it redid the upholstery for another $350 and had fun driving it around town. I sold it five years later for $2600.

I went back and re-read my post, which sure does make it look like I meant my dad = Grumpy Jenkins. Mea culpa. My dad and him (2 different people) ran together ca. late 1950s to mid 1960s out of shop in Malvern, PA. Dad drove a Grumpy-tuned 58 Impala and learned enginecraft from him as a young punk. He later opened up an automotive shop that he ran until the mid 80s.
So, to further clarify, Grumpy was Dad's mentor, but not my father (as far as I know, at least ...)
I'm glad to know I'm not the only guy that recognizes his name around here though -- very cool! I guess you can be a motorhead and a coin geek at the same time.

Still have my 65 roadster....327/350 also with air, but in the midst of a VERY slow restoration!!!

The problem with vehicles is that they are not like collecting coins--they take up a lot of space and are costly to maintain & insure.
