Would love to attend this show, unfortunately every one of them so far has been "especially selected" to coincide with the Auburn, MA coin show only 2 hours away. At times the Albany, NY show also conflicts with Auburn. You'd think these promoters would do themselves a favor and get it together instead of banging heads.

I've attended Vin's show and it's a winner. It's young but sure to pick up steam. Lots of variety for small show, several folks specializing in stamps were there and a couple dealing exclusively in world coins. Free drawing for a gold coin. And it's a fabulous show for kids! imageI took my 7-year-old son, Ben, along last time and he had a ball. The various people set up there were incredibly kind to him--he came home with three free coins and plenty of education.

I just thought I would add to the thread since I am one of the promoters for the show. We spent a very long time deciding which day to make the show. No matter which day you make it you are going to conflict with some show. We do run the show on the same day as Auburn every month. We only conflict with Albany when its a holiday and Albany moves theres from the first to second sunday. Our show is every second of the month. No Confusion that way. If anyone needs directions or any info....please go to our website.

I can't find any link for the show at that website.

In relation to Hartford, N, S, E or W, where is New Haven, and how far in what direction from Hartford?

    Off rt 84?

Hartford is like half an hour away from New Haven. It is North of New Haven. Where are you coming from?

Well that's clear enough. You pick the same schedule as the Auburn show on purpose. For what it's worth probably 10 CT dealers who do Auburn have indicated they would like to do New Haven if given the chance. But with the current scheduling, that obviously won't happen.

I don't do it to purposefully conflict with Auburn. The first Sunday is Albany, NY which many dealers from Connecticut do. Then third Sunday is a local show that everyone does. Fourth Sunday is Hartford, CT and everyone does that one as well. The only other options were 2nd Sunday or Saturdays. How many dealers would do it if we switched to every second Saturday? Maybe if there is enough of a gathering I would switch.

Hartford show is only held each quarter. If you conflicted with that date, it would only be 4X a year. The Hartford show has been losing steam for years. It's a shell of what it was back in the 1980's and early 1990's. I think the only reason they continue to keep a small core of dealers there is the SNECDA affiliation. That's the closest show to me and I only attend that once every 1-2 years....when some friends drag me along. I know some very active dealers who live within 15 miles of Hartford and don't bother. They'd rather spend their time on Saturday hitting the local shops.

If you didn't conflict with Auburn, you might even pull some MASS dealers down to your way too.
