After looking at coppercoin doubled die, it is hard to say without more pics.

Edited to add : it's a class 2, distorted hub doubled die. This is characterized by the fact that all of the doubling shows toward the center of the design - it's not rotated or offset.

More info about this coin, it is a 1964 Proof JFK Half with a normal obverse, accented hair reverse and hub-doubling completely around the coin from the area of the stars outward and all of the lettering is doubled. At first I didn't notice that all the letters were doubled and that the doubling eminated outwards, like from the center of the coin. I learned that's how ya tell this kinda hub doubling from machine doubling.
I would kinda like to know how this is able to happen.

As for telling the difference between this and machine doubling - you could show me a well lit clear photo of one single doubled device and I could tell you whether you had machine or hub doubling. It's the characteristics of the doubling itself that are completely different between the two - makes no difference which devices are doubled and what direction.
