A sniper nastygram (Heavily Censored)

We've talked a lot about sniping on eBay and getting nasty emails from the underbidder. This is one I got last year. Apparently this guy made a habit out of sending emails through eBay like this, not long after I got this he was NARU'ed.

You dirty little image sucker! How dare you steal that coin out from under me you imageimage! You better hope I never meet your sorry image you low down son of a image. Its image like you that have taken all the fun out of Ebay image. I hope you have fun with that coin by shoving it up your imageimage you imageimageimage. Drop dead image.

It was the underbidder. Had a feedback score of 22 with four negatives.

You should have told him you were sorry and that you'll be happy to send the coin to him if he provides a mailing address.

I'll let you creatively decide what to send him once he's given you his mailing address.

  • This isnt rocket science. Listen up out there in sniper land. If you want to be the winner, dont be a piker! Pony up some cash if you want to win an auction. Why anyone should be mad when they dont win an auction at 10 to 50 percent of what it should sell for is beyond me. As a buyer, the way I deal with snipers is very simple. I do my home work. If I really want to win an auction, I bid so high that if some sniper actually did win the auction, which is rare, they will wish they had not. On the other side, the selling side, I pray for snipers. They wind up jacking the price up to where it should be and sometimes way above where it should be. image

By the way, this was for a nicely rim toned PCGS MS64 common Morgan. Greysheet bid at the time was $42, his bid was $40. In every case where I've received an email like this, the upset bidder's max was at or below greysheet bid.

If the buyer was serious about buying the coin, why didn't they just bid a few bucks over greysheet bid to cover themselves ? Would you still have bid on the Morgan ?

Sore loser IMO, but the e-mail was totally out of line and childish.

You said the coin was nice and they probably thought so to and were trying to get it at a bargain .

    Got what they deserve. image

  • If this was a computer based snipe program you used, no big deal. But for a true manual 12 second or less snipe, I

can't think of a higher compliment for your dexterity and auto-visual athletic skills! A "you suck" is nothing compared with

the ego rewards of a viscious nastygram for a fine manual snipe that's finely timed and rewarded!!

My grandmother gets a little out of sorts from time to time. She didn't mean it. She's usually a very sweet person.

There was no way I would reply to that. At the time, if you replied, it would reveal your email to the user who sent you the email through eBay's system. I simply ignored it and added it to my collection.
