You Try To Be Helpful

image I'm running around eBay looking for some great coins and I notice a seller has an incorrect listing. The year is wrong. The coin is a 1937 and this seller has it listed as a 1936-S. So I send the seller this: "I just wanted to let you know that you list this coin as a 1936-S. It's actually a 1937. Just wanted to let you know so you could fix your listing." Lee Helpful right? Heres the Sellers reply (All Cap's): OBVIOUSLY THIS IS A 1937 DATED COIN!!!!! Sometimes you just can't win. Lee (I won't write here what my follow up response was to this was)image

  • LeeG - Link it, and I (and perhaps others) will ask if it's a 36-S or a '37. In fact, I may ask him if it's a '38, just to get a reaction!

I've sent emails to sellers whose title/description didn't match the pic, and they all thanked me for pointing out the error. This guy may deserve some "email thrashing...."

image Well Shamika since you asked: "I'm trying to be helpful and you slam me. What's your problem? I guess chalk it up to eBay, Scam's, Sham's, and just ungrateful sellers everywhere. Have a Good Life, Chump!" I didn't say anything really too badimage Lee
  • He still hasn't changed the title for his ad but made a feeble attempt to change his description inside the ad...he must have been so upset that he still didn't describe it as a 1937! :jerk; (It appears I couldn't find the forum code to describe this guy's attitude).

Pasted from the ad description area:

On Jan-21-05 at 20:13:56 PST, seller added the following information:

THIS IS A 197 DATED COMMEM NOT 1936-S AS TITLE SAYS.

image All's Well That Ends Well. Got the following email:

I apologize as I was not trying to slam you. I realized after I saw what I
sent it looked like it was a derogatgory remark. I have taken the item
    down. Once again I apologize.
