Remember it's not how you pick your nose that matters, it's where you put the boogers.

  • That's a sharp toner. One side could be endroll, ditched deep in a bag or album toning. Probably album toning. I think it's higher than AU.image

I like it, even if it is just on one side. AU-55 sounds on target also. image

If album toned, it was stored reverse side out ???

Ahh, good point! Anything's possible. Let's exclude the album toning theory. image

the reverse has the look of a 63, the obv looks 62, but hard to tell without seeing it in person..........nice toner

  • I have a 1896 that looks similar to yours, but it is toned on both sides and resides in a NGC MS65 holder. I do not have pics, since I am in Florida for a few weeks, excaping the weather in Ohio.

  • I'd say uncirculated, strike is a bit weak.

That coin is a roll quality commercial unc. The obverse toning is no good, artificially done.

Herb, that coin is a slider and is AT.
  • It looks to be an Au-50 MS-60 slider. Toning doesn't look right to me but AT/NT I couldn't tell you. I have one similar that was face down in an oak drawer of my father's desk for a couple years, picked up some nice red orange toning on the Obverse and Reverse was clean. It happens.

Eric, I was hoping because of the white (lighter toned) areas under the date, shadow effect, the coin is NT.
