www.geocaching.com is basically a hunt, people place boxes ranging from Ammo Cans, to Tupperware, to camera film containers all over the place. Currently there are caches in over 200 countries. What you do is you use a GPS (Global Positioning System) to locate these caches and sign the log in the container, sometimes there are small trinkets in the containers so it's sort of like treasure hunting. Today I pulled a carabein (I know thats not spelled right, basically it's a D ring used for repelling) and I placed one of my extra Winged Liberty Dimes in the container, take something leave something, thats the rule.
I had allot of fun, I would recommend it to anyone, Ray
Geocaching can sometimes cause trouble though. Recently they had a major foulup in Fort Wayne.
Geocaches aren't always left out in the wood somewhere. A few months back two enthusiasts asked permission from a store owner to hide a cache in his establishment. The owner, being a geocacher himself of course said yes. Unfortunately he did not inform his employees of this. Later when they came back and hid their cache the owner was not there, but the two were seen by an employee "Hiding a box in behind a bench and then leaving." Concerned about what was going on she contacted the police. They came out, looked things over, and also decided they need to call out the bomb squad. The bomb squad came, the shopping center was evacuated, and after a lengthy careful examination when it didn't appear there were any explosives the cache was carefully opened and determined to be harmless. But by that time a great many people had been inconvienenced, businesses had suffered lost sales and of course the expense of the police and bomb squads. All because the owner didn't tell his employees that these two geocachers would be coming in.

Ever hear of it?
Apropos of the coin posse/aka caca: "The longer he spoke of his honor, the tighter I held to my purse."

I've seen a TV program or two about it. Looks pretty interesting.
