What did you find of interest in your change this week? I got a 1940 Wheat Cent, 1952 D Jefferson and 1950 D Jefferson. All in pretty rough condition.

I landed 46-D and 52-S Jeff nickels ... first pre-60 coins I have found in circulation in ages.

Whoa, a 50-D in circulation? I searched Jeff rolls for years and was proud of the fact I put together a 1938-64 set from circulation -- save for the '39-D and '50-D.

If you've been reading the Open Forum, you'll know that I went to White Castle last night. In my change, I received:

    .25 2000 NH VF+
    .10 2003 AU+
    .05 1993D VF
    .05 1986P F
    .01 2004D UNC RD
    .01 1996D VF, corrosion
.01 1983 VF BN, 5 deg. die rotation
.01 1975 F+ BN Hints of the original red still adorn this no-problem example of our nation's bicentennial coinage. Own this piece of history today!

This was an interesting find. Had an educational discussion about 72 DD with Coppercoins. Still not sure what's wrong with the date.

I added the WI P and D quarters to my from circulation collection. The D is easily improvable
but the P is choice and there may not be a better one coming my way. I also upgraded my
1976-P quarter from a wekly struck AU+ to a nice gem with a rub. The rub is significant but the
coin is nice. It wasn't an upgrade but I also found a nice VF '68 quarter.

The best find was an AU '79-D with type "d" reverse. I only find about one of these a year and
most of them are F or VF.
    Tempus fugit.

All I found was a rock.

Buyer and seller of vintage coin boards!
  • I've found a ton of foreign coins in my change, all of which i have hung onto. Most of it is canadian but i have found a few British New Pennys. I've even found a couple Silver Canadian dimes and quarters from the late 50's early 60's in my change.

    Recent finds would be these.

    58-D and 64-D nickels

    No pictures please! image
I decided to change calling the bathroom the John and renamed it the Jim. I feel so much better saying I went to the Jim this morning.

A guy posted over on RCC that he just bought two rolls of halves from the bank -- one all Franklins, the other all Walkers! I never have scores like that image ...
  • I received a no-date V-Nickel in change today. I barely could make out "CENTS" on the back and 1??? on the front.

  • 1968 P, D and S Lincoln Cents. All from one cashier, all at once. The 68P grades XF, the D and S AU.

    What are the odds?image
  • I got a 1947-S Jeff in pretty rough shape.

I suddenly seem to have stopped getting S mint Jeffs with only one 1970-S in recent memory.

In change from a McDonald's I got a 1956-D cent. First wheatback in awhile.

$40 in halves, one 1965 I kept, of the remainder there were 25 1976-D's one of which I contemplated keeping but decided to spend.
Some call it an accumulation not a collection
  • My finds for the week:

All from either my register at Blockbuster, or out of the rolls I went through this week

    3 pennies 1920, and two 1957 D's
    1 Nickel 1941
1 half 1966 (after going through 50$ in halves)

    Jeff
I collect bits and pieces of everything
or should I say I ACCUMULATE!
I also dabble with the darkside image

Ive recently gotten more into currency, especially modern star notes
  • I bought seven Sacs from the bartender at T.G.I. Friday. Does that count? All were 2000. Some P, some D. A couple were mint state.
The strangest things seem suddenly routine.
  • How is this for a circulation find .. I got this in change at the Subway I went to this week.
Im unemployed again after 1.5 years with Kittyhawk they let me go. image
