Check my eyesight...Is this a 1900 Micro-O VAM-5? Warning, large photos.

It's the perfect color and condition for my VF20-35 album. I'd love to have a nice tricky micro-O in that spot.

It's hard to say from the image. I know from first hand experience images can be deceiving.

Edited to add: I saw you won that 1903-S micro S last week, congrats on winning that coin!

Coin arrived today...and sure enough it appears to be a VAM 5: Micro-O Variety. Very rare. How rare? Heritage sold a VF35 in Nov. 2004 for $2,600 plus here:

This baby is going right in my VF20-35 album for a few years. It will probably be the 2nd most valuable coin in the album after the 93-S in VF25. It should surpass even the '94 in VF20 and the '89-CC in VF20. Just hope my heirs don't sell it as a common date coin!image r

And that is the main reason to submit the coin... please don't be offended by that comment, its just that your example is rare... quite rare and should get special attention. I would get a standard 1900-o for that spot. Honest, I am not trying to be difficult here.

  • Definitely RARE. Congratulations.

Regarding your heirs, just have a well written record of your coins and their current value (update ever couple of years or so). A CD with images is also helpful.

That IS a micro-O... the clincher is the diagnostic on the obverse -- the gouged lines between the U and M in UNUM.

    That's a great coin. Congratulations!
    When in doubt, don't.
