Dip residue

I have a morgan that I think has dip residue on it. How do I get rid of the residue?

Sorry there are no pictures, just got it today and have not had a chance to take one.

There is a type of rim toning, which some people think is caused by the residue after a coin has been dipped but not properly neutralized. Whether or not that is the cause, it is not "dip residue" you are seeing, it is toning. Thus, if you want to remove it, you will have to dip the coin.

I dont think it is toning, I could be wrong. It almost looks cloudy in areas. But it does not smell like pvc and it is not turning green. Perhaps it is not dip residue. I will have to post a pic later tonight.

Take a plastic forceps or tweezers and dip it it in hot distilled water in a clear glass Pyrex dish, then rinse it with cold distilled water and then finally with pure isopropyl alcohol or everclear. Let it air dry by carefully leaning it up against smoething so that both sides are open to air circulation.

Can't get everclear around these parts anymore.
