Why Do CU Members Get Banned?

I am still relatively new here, and perhaps I am misinformed, or still ignorant to certain criteria that one must meet in order to retain membership here at CU. Sometimes it's obvious even to me why someone gets banned, yet I still have no idea why others get banned. In the latter case, I speak of Vargha. The standards of inclusion and banishment appear somewhat subjective to me. His perceived ban highlights that subjective nature perhaps more than any other ban I have witnessed.
First, has Vargha really been banned? And if so, why? I think the forum members deserve an official statement when someone with 16000+ posts gets shown the door. It would be a welcome courtesy to us and it would nip any potential grapevine rumors in the bud. It could potentially also serve as a guidepost for the behavior that is expected of all forum members.
I find Vargha an intelligent, informative, humorous member of this forum. I'll miss him. In no way was he ever hurtful to other forum members. In fact, I think he took more shots at himself than he did at anyone else. Sure, he was critical of CU at times. But who hasn't been? And frankly, I like that he occasionally brought up past incidents involving CU. Just as we warn the CU community about negative incidents that occur on eBay, PayPal, Mastro, etc., Vargha's intent I think was to not allow PSA to go without responsibility for certain happenings that can affect our investment in them, their reputation, and their service. What's wrong with that? No one stopped using PSA's service because of Vargha's posts, but it reminded us that any company can make mistakes and we need to be constantly informed and responsible when it comes to spending hundreds, or thousands, of dollars on a card that is encapsulated by PSA. By being critical of PSA at times, he was in fact telling us that the ultimate responsibility for our investment in sportscards rests entirely in our own knowledge, vigilance and experience. Not even PSA slabs can liberate us from being responsible collectors.
If Vargha has been banned, so be it. It's not my forum and I respect the ultimate decisions that CU management must make. I am sure someone felt there was ample reason to this action and used prudent judgement before making such a difficult and final decision. Messages can be sent to a community in a variety of manners. Sometimes silent actions can be the most vociferous statement of all.
I look forward to my continued relationships with the CU forum and its members. I also hope that one day Vargha will be among them again.
edited for atrocious spelling.

After a certain amount of time, it's impossible to get banned. Vargha is the Gil Hodges of the CU/PSA website. He can't be voted into the blacklist hall of fame. Vargha, quite simply, is the CU/PSA website. He's Abner Doubleday, Connie Mack and Gaylord Perry all rolled up into one person. I'm just worried about him. Is he sick? I hope he's okay.
16,000 posts is one record that will never be broken. It's like playing in 57,000 ball games in a row and having a hit in each. There should be a Vargha bridge at PSA like they have for one of those dead, Hogan guys at Augusta.
If Vargha is gone, he's signed a lucrative seven figure deal with another website. I wonder if SGC offered him seven years at 12 million guaranteed, a chance to moderate and his own radio show.
What's amazing is there's not a single person on this website who doesn't like Vargha and there's not a single person on this website who Vargha likes.
Wherever he is, he's spreading joy and legs. A man like that only comes along once in a lifetime... thank god. If the world was made up of all Varghas, we'd never have peace time, a cease fire or a reason to see what he's been posting.
Keep all your fingers crossed (Inbreeds cross those two extra sixth fingers too),
Scumbi
Good post Scumbi. 16000 posts is a lot on the card forums but some of the open forum people have far more than that.
Do we even know for sure that Vargha has been banned???? Is it possible that he simply went on vacation or is too busy with work or something?
A warning or a suspension maybe, but banishment?? Heck, Ron Artest beat up some fans and he's only banned for a few months.
Always looking for 1957 Topps BB in PSA 9!

From now on, I won't post
unless I think about how my words
could affect others who have been so
kind to me over the past few years!
You know who you are! To get back
on topic, I will miss Vargha's humor ...
ultimately, we will cross paths again!

Oh, I almost forgot, Happy New Year!
David the plans he made put an end to you
I walked out this morning and I wrote down this song
I just can’t remember who to send it to
I’ve seen tens and I’ve seen an eight
I’ve seen funny posts that I thought that the pres would hate
I’ve seen controversy over WIWAG-gate
But I always thought that I’d see you post again
Won’t you look down upon me, Carol
You’ve got to help me make a stand
You’ve just got to see me through another day
No other card poster had close to sixteen grand
Even though had so very little to say
I’ve seen tens and I’ve seen an eight
I’ve seen funny posts that I thought that the pres would hate
I’ve seen controversy over WIWAG-gate
But I always thought that I’d see you post again
Been walking my mind to an easy time when posting was more fun
Lord knows when he blows he’ll turn your head around
Well, there’s hours of time on the DSL line to talk about things he’d won
Sweet posts and copyright marks to a halt have ground
Oh, I’ve seen tens and I’ve seen an eight
I’ve seen funny posts that I thought that the pres would hate
I’ve seen controversy over WIWAG-gate
But I always thought that I’d see you post again, now
Thought I’d see you post one more time again
There’s very few threads coming my way this time around, now
Thought I’d see you, thought I’d see you post again . . .
