Does not have much eye appeal. Could this really hit $100?
One of the most sought after cards, for sure, but wouldn't a facsimile reproduction be better than this paper mulch?

The ebay listing says it is "unusual and neat," well, it is enough to make you throw up! Honest, if you gave me the card for FREE I would hate you forever.
Years ago, some guy found 1/2 of a Honus Wagner card in a rock fence on his farm, had it graded and then it went up for auction with an opening bid of something like $4,500. What!!! $4500 for 1/2 of the Honus Wagner card. I would have gone back to the fence to try to find the other half and then maybe both of them together, taped would have gotten the $4500.
Honest, I was going to put a bid in for $9.99 and buy it and then take a picture of me burning it and putting it out of its misery so all of you could enjoy it, but, believe it or not, somebody already bid on it!
Well, lets say this guy has 20 reprints that he does this to. Over a period of time, he averages 50 bucks a piece. This guy has just made an EASY cool 1000.00. I dont see why any scammer may not want to do this. 50 bucks a pop is 50 bucks a pop! If it goes more, than that's some good gravy. 1000 bucks would buy me a lot of really nice things!
honestly, would PSA grade this. I mean I can't afford a high grade Mantle, so having something authentic would be cool without eating noodles everyday.
You guys know more than me about this vintage, so if its a reprint, forget it! A reprint is not bad and has its place in the market. Some people prefer reprints to use as a filler card in their collection until they can save up for the original. To pass a reprint off as real...that's when its criminal.

This card looks like an obvious reprint that has been dirtied up in an attempt to pass as legit. Color seems off, as does the "311" numbering on the back. Seems like this is coming up moe and more. dirtying up reprints to pass off as poor conditioned "possibly real" ones.

If PSA can conclude that it was authentic, i think they would grade it no matter how crappy it is. Now why doesn't someone burn a legit card (any card) stomp it in the mud and wear the crap out of it, then send it into PSA for grading and see what happens. This could be kinda fun seeing who can get the crappiest card graded, then we can post pics on the board. whatcha think?
JERO - if the card is important enough, PSA will grade it AUTHENTIC if it's too badly beaten up to deserve a number grade. That sort of takes the fun out of it.
