New years resolution..to purchase at least 3.CC HELP PLEASE

Ok I know it don't sound like much but I am gonna hopefully purchase at least 3(hopefully 5) of the more readily available CC...my question to you is.
1) Is it better to buy them in the GSA holders(which I would prefer)
2) To buy them raw (ebay..outside the holders)
3) Or are there any forum members that some of you can refer me to, that can guide me in a purchase.
The GSA holders really attract me because of the possibility of a good buy at a fair price
(but they are bid up so fast)
my purchases probably will not be until at least april or may...so i'll be scanning my local coin show(BLUE RIBBON COIN SHOW...TOLEDO OHIO) and checking out my local club...
just looking for some input on what most people prefer..
