"Houston, we have lift-off" (TCCS Website is Up & Running)

I just wanted to let everyone know that the long awaited website for the Toned Coin Collectors Society is online, however, not yet completed. We expect the website to be fully functional around January 8, 2005. The website will also have a message board similar to this one and many other features upon completion. Please pass this information on to anyone you know that may be interested.

The website may be found at:
www.tonedcoins.org

We are also going to try and have a TCCS meeting at FUN - I'm waiting to hear from FUN for a date a time for room availability.
If you're going to be at FUN, let us know if you are interested in attending.

Happy New Year to all and best wishes for a prosperous Numismatic year

  • Any room chosen will automatically be the Rainbow Room, all that's needed is a sign!

For true authenticity, it will be enhanced if the Forum member who calls himself "luckyluciano" shows up with Da Bozs!!

Are any of the members of the TCCS also members of the BCCS?

BTW, the Brilliant Coin Collectors Society is NOT a division of Mensa, but thanks for asking.

Hey Andy - send me an Application - I like white (silver), gold & copper - they can be toned or untoned - they just have to have great eye appeal! image

    Ron,

Thanks for all the work to put this thing together. Let me know when we will have "show and tell" at one of the shows and I will bring the 1877 in MS66 and a few others. Best to you in 2005.

Nor did it take long for another of the immature comments I am coming to expect from you. You have a problem with someone saying a site looks good? Give me a break.

Nothing immature about it. You fight fire with fire, and one of the principals of this new "society" is a real problem.

Newmismatist, looks like a lot of time and effort went into the new site. Can't wait to see some pictures!image

It's unfortunate you have to jab for the sake of jabbing. My comment was made as a collector who is interested in toned coins and who appreciates the work that went into getting this site up and running. As a collector, I'm here to learn and there are a lot of people here who have a lot of knowledge to share. It's unfortunate that some feel the need to jab and make this a less enjoyable place.

    Again, the site looks great!

  • Ron: I really like the Mission Statement with regard to advancing the scientific knowledge of the toning processes.

Frankly the major TPG's have not done their homework, and I'm interested if some progress can be objectively

made, instead of immature name calling and a lot of "opinions" with no chemical and other tested data as a basis. The

website is a great first step. Good work.

After reading a couple of remarks made on this thread I hope it isn't too similar.
If It doesn't have great eye appeal, I don't want it.

Our goal is a positive and constructive dialogue regarding toning and toned coins - those that can't participate in that manner won't need to post as they will have nothing to contribute. The concept of simply making negative remarks about others because one dislikes another person for personal reasons adds nothing to any discussion regarding toning and toned coins.

We hope to have a section where our members can post pictures of their coins and provide all of us information as to any particulars as to the history of their particular "babies".

there is a lot of helpful information regardign toning and for starters, we hope to create links so that they available information can be readily accessed from our website.

Constructive comments and suggestions are welcome -

  • Very nice clean layout. Looks like it's going to be an interesting site.
