I think the 2003s were some of the best of the bunch. Unlike the mint's usual meat grinder for coins, some of these actually looked great in the mint sets. Is that where this one is from?
  • I've seen a good number of coins fresh out of rolls that have shown PL or Semi-PL mirrors... I remember Cameron selling a PCGS one, and saying it looked PL...

  • Did PCGS label it as PL?

ANACS will, on occasion, label a Modern Mint State Lincoln PL. They've also labeled one DMPL:

  • I recall reading about those when they first started showing up on Teletrade, even submitted a few from a 1999d bag, best I got was 67, no designation. Never seen one before, though. Wow.

  • Didn't know ANACS did that. Very cool. I'd like to own one of those slabs.

Haven't seen an ANACS Pop Report in a long time but a while ago an Indian I own was one of 4 in the series with a "PL" designation (63 RD PL). Still have it . . .

The mint has been making some incredible PL cents since '88 and some have
been appearing in circulation since about 1998. The best of them are spec-
    tacular.

While the older cents do appear as Proof Likes the fields are not as flat and
they never have any of the cameo effect which on these is just the roughness
    imparted by brand new dies.

I have a 2003 MS68PL Penny graded by NGC... Pictures around here somewhere... Found Em...

Though I'm not really a modern collector, I think they're neat. Actually got this one from braddick. There were a total of 6 2003 Lincoln Memorial Cents given the PL designation by NGC, 4 in MS68 and 2 in MS69.

I received one of those in change within the last year. It had a big slide mark across the obverse field, but otherwise the coin was far and away better than any other Lincoln I had ever recieved in change.
