I picked up this 1871-H 50c last night. Not a very high grade but it fits into my set. Now I only need three coins, 1888, 1890-H, and 1905. I don't count the 1921 as part of the set.

I have "completed" my "modern" set of Canadian "halves" - - but only because I have decided not to count the 1948, 98W, 99P, 02P, both 03's, or the 04!!
Are you disciplined in your collecting, or have you struck out on a lot of tangents while collecting your 50 cent set? I find it hard to pass on nice Canadian Victoria material (when I find the coins at good prices), even if I'm not assembling a date set.
Ah, you're more like me than I thought. I need only one more dollar for my Canadian set (1948), but I've almost given up looking for a nice AU-55 to 58. I've bought lots of other coins in the mean time.

Seriously, though, can we get a picture?

Too funny! Currently I am trying to complete:
1. Can $1, need a bunch of coins
2. Can 50c, need 3 coins
3. Can 25c, need 2 coins
4. Can 10c, need a bunch of coins
5. Can 5c silver, need 2 coins
6. Aussie 1/2d
7. Aussie 1d
So yes, I am quite disciplined.
