"No reverse image is available"

Response I just got from an eBay seller. Translation:

The PCGS label should be enough, and I'm too lazy to take the couple minutes and slap the reverse on the scanner.

I'm thinking about responding with: No bid is available.

That's exactly what I was thinking - I wouldn't have the time to bid if the seller doesn't have time for a pic of the reverse.

I'd like to know who the seller is so that I can skip looking at their auctions.

Do it Russ! This guy's an idiot -- I bet when he goes into a retail store his attitude changes to "I'm the customer and the customer is always right." Well, now he's the shopkeeper and you're the customer!

Sounds about right to me. If you're not interested in bothering to post a good picture of the reverse, you're either (a) hiding something or (b) not interested in getting top dollar for your coins.

I can't tell you how many Ebay auctions I've seen that are selling, what I consider, very expensive coins but either the picture is non-existant (usually not the case) or some incredibly INEPT pictures are available (much more often). How can any of these dolts think they can sell an expensive coin (or one that is asking premium) when a lame picture is offered? Then, to top it off, sometimes they don't give a return policy. Yeah, I'm gonna bid on that auction. Sure...

  • Russ, what was the value (or bid amount) of the coin you were inquiring about?
  • Hi Russ,
I'd respond by telling him that with the scan as shown your'e willing to place a bid for the obverse only image

    Best and Holiday Wishes,
