Merry Christmas! Can anyone help me ID this medal?

A friend showed me this medal and asked me to find out some things about it. It looks like a mint product from 1976. I'm guessing it has little value as many medals were made then by lots of people. But I thought one of you all may have seen one before and can tell me about it. Thanks!

It's nearly the size of a dollar coin, as well.

It was one of many, many official, semi-official and unofficial bicentennial issues struck and sold in 1976. It's not rare, but is worth a little more in the original first day cover mailing envelope.

Thanks guys! I told him it wasn't likely to be worth anything (maybe in 2076?) but wanted to learn more about it.

The site I saw was selling them for $3.50.
