Numismatic New Year's Resolutions!!! What's yours?

Okay -- I know we haven't even got past Christmas yet, but that's no reason not to consider what you will or won't do numismatically in 2005.

So I'll start --

In 2005 I resolve to photograph my entire collection and build a website to display all of the pics.

Sell off some coins that don't fit into my collection and buy ones that do. And to take more time in finding the right coins to fit what I'm trying to do. And that is to build a nice quality (but economically feasible) non-gold type set of US coins.
  • since at work i give 110% maybe this year ill try for 120%. i can normally do the work of my position and the asst. manager's job at the same time. my store manager thinks im nuts but i think its multi tasking. anyway since dad came back home from the hospital i think im gonna resolute to do more aroudn the house and help out even more than i have in the past. he isnt getting younger so maybe its a good time to do what i can to make his life a little easier. and finally this year now that i ahve my new girlfriend i think its only fair that i work even harder this year to make her the happiest girl in the world. and keep her parents happy with me

  • To hone my grading skills and my ability to detect and identify problem coins.
To buy more coins, while still remaining cautious. (don't know if that's possible)

To streamline my collection by refining my goals, and buying higher graded coins.
  • Upgrade at least 3 coins in my Morgan set.

    Continue to learn
Add nice coins to my type sets
Slab some high value moderns (to pay for type set buys!)
Give Blood (Red Bags) & Platelets (Yellow Bags)!
  • To find as many of these "fugly, coffee stained, nasty and sickly looking" 1938-1942 Jeffersons as I can find (I call them fully original undipped cello toned, and I don't see many around). Like the one below - everyone hated it and said so quite verbally - except for a very few PM's (1 from a guy who has a TOP Jeff Proof 5c set) that said "follow your course and don't listen to the white/dipped crowd" or words to that effect. I love my 5c image ....and all my 10c too.

Learn how to use my new digital camera and take pictures of my entire collection. Posting them to my Registry Sets is my end goal.

  • Get to 85% on my Kennedy set, upgrade the 3 Kennedys in 65 to 66, add a few coins to my type set. Take my oldest son to a major show ( he's older then you thinkimage), looking to go to the spring Baltimore if I get back from our upcoming counter drug ops deployment in time, if not will look at the summer show, and lastly start selling off a few dansco albums that I have finished.
