My New 1962D Washington. Wow!!!

Christmas came early to me this year. Some of you might remember this thread I started a while back. Well, I didn't win the auction but much to my surprise I received an email from the winner of the auction offering the coin to me. He most likely had upgrade in mind when placing the winning bid but after receiving the coin he felt that it wouldn't go 67. It was sent to me on approval and I fell in love with it. Really fantastic toning for this date. In fact I believe it is one of the nicest toned 62d's you'll ever see, much nicer than the pictures Heritage had up.

As a side note I wanted to say that the owner of the coin told me he thought the coin wasn't worth the price he paid and we could negotiate a new price if I decided to keep it. It was sold to me at a substantially lower price than what he paid. The man took a pretty big hit on this one. He's going to kill me but I thought I'd publicly thank Craig Norris (MANOFCOINS) for selling me the coin at a price I could afford. Why he did this I'm not sure, maybe I just got lucky and caught him in the Christmas spirit of giving.image Thanks Craig!

"Buy it!!!!! You want it and the price ain't really "stupid"...I can tell you from experience, you'll kick yourself later if you pass....AND...you won't ever find a prettier coin for that date!!!"

I stick by my comments from the original thread.

  • That's a great coin and a great story...............a collector would have to be nuts not to want to add that to his set............now how much are you going to sell it to me for?????

  • I put that in my tracking list as soon as I saw it, prettiest Washington I've seen, although others you have posted are right up there. Thanks for sharing a GOOD picture of it.
