  • Won't they get marred up by jingling around in the drawers?

  • I got this cute little antique box at auction for about $8. I thought it would be nice just for loose circ. coins - but I'm a box freak.

It's on Sears' website -- do a search for oak storage cabinet.

that you can get premade by a carpendar for half the price

You might be right -- but that is a nice box for any hobbiest - whether you're a coin collector, fly fisherman or a rock hound.

The price is steep ---> $400+ but it is something you'll keep for years.

Folks, before you all run out to sears-'where america shops'- you might want to take into consideration what this little OAK box would do to your coins- oak is very acidic and it can ruin your collection in no time. Try cheery or african mahogany. if you want a box like this - don't go to sears- try Lowe's or home depot- much cheaper- put tools in it just like the picture shows. The above mentioned woods in a box like this- about 600.

Or, for the true elite collector, this early Gustav Stickley cabinet. Single paneled door with original copper hardware over a single drawer with original facetted wood knobs, beveled top and arched toe board, complete interior contains mirrored door and open shelf over a series of drawers, original finish, signed with early red decal, 35"w x 23"d x 72"h. This piece is circa 1905. The drawers slide out as if they were made of butter:

I had the pleasure of examining this cabinet and then seeing it sell for $12,000 at auction on Sunday, December 5th.
