Not a big deal, just surprising that I'd get a Christmas card from NGC Collectors Society. Heck, I'm small potato's, so I wonder what they sent a guy like MadMarty who's kept their heads above water this year!!!!!!!!!image

They sent Marty a busty 4 foot tall blonde wearing an elve's suit and carrying a pizza and a six-pack.

I didn't get a card from NGC. That's okay, though. As long as they keep sending me these, they can keep the card:

What's with the "Morgan Silver Bullion" coins? image
  • I got a card from NGC, but I'm much happier with the 1878 REV 79 vam-203 MS65 that PCGS has in the mail for me.

Actually Bailey's question is a good one... what happened with the 1883-CC?

Experience the World through Numismatics...it's more than you can imagine.

    hey Eric

that's just an old friend that i linked so this thread would be coin related. no need for a bump-a-roo-ski to the open forum.

oh yeah, Baley, do you mean you've never met Anna?? she's an old friend that i dated for about 2 years when she liked to wear green, but everyone thought she looked a year too old whenever we stopped at a "fashion" show and i was very insulted, though Anna didn't really seem to care. in desperation i sent her to the West Coast for a makeover and she came home sporting a nice blue dress and bearing some prize money, a testament to her true beauty. we finally parted ways last summer and now to my consternation some people insist she looks younger than she really is!!!! i swear, collectors can be fickle. sometimes they get all caught up in the clothes a pretty lady's wearing.image

    hey coinkat and Baley

in all it's regrettable glory, here's the fiasco thread if you'd care to read through it. it was ugly but proved enlightening about many things and many people. i would have brought it TTT but i think most who are familiar with it would agree it should TTB!!!image

That's interesting considering your past posts displaying your disdain for Morgan Dollars. I would think if you were going to insert a picture into an off topic post it would be a Jefferson Nickel. image
  • keetskeets Posts: 25,351 ✭✭✭✭✭
hey now, i don't really hold them in disdain i just find there pre-emminence at the top of the coin world food chain as annoying. i'll be the first to admit that they carry the hobby on their shoulders. Geez, you could have an entire show just dedicated to Morgans. could you imagine a show just for Jeffersons??!! how boring would that be, even for me!!!!!!!image

and in case you haven't seen me post it before, i am intrigued by the 1878 issues and the die varieties that resulted from the rush to get all that silver sold. at the heart of my annoyance is the fact that they were coined to satisfy a political self-interest at a time when the country didn't really want or need them and the overwhelming majority of the coins were either set in Treasury vaults, shipped overseas or melted at some point to be recycled into different coins like Peace Dollars which i can't figure to make any sense.
