Congratulations- nice find!

<< <i>I've nominated your find as a "Wild Card" entry on the Metal Detecting Forum awards for this month. The "Wild Card" category is given for finds made without a metal detector, including circulation finds. (As the name indicates, it's pretty much our "anything goes" category.)

Thanks Lordmarcovan,
I never saw one before and Liberty sure is pretty.
Need more of her on coins.

The polls are up.
Y'all remember that anyone can enter "Wild Card" finds on the Detecting Forum awards, even if you don't have a metal detector, since this category is for circulation and "eyeball" finds. So let's see some future participation with those neat finds!
DECEMBER, 2004
It's been a slow month, but I guess winter in the northern regions has curtailed detecting for a lot of our members. There were some nice rings dug this last month in the Jewelry category, though. And don't y'all forget to enter those circulation finds on future "Wild Card" award competitions, as that is one category that you don't need a detector to compete in!
THE FOUR MONTHLY "QUALITY" AWARDS:
Best Coin/Token (come and vote in the poll!)
Best Jewelry Item (come and vote in the poll!)
Best Relic/Other (no poll since there was only one entry)
CROCKofCOINS: CD wallet with 24 Mexican music CD's
Best "Wild Card" Find (come and vote in the poll!)
THE TWO MONTHLY "QUANTITY" AWARDS:
Most Face Value US Coins
CROCKofCoins: $25.30
Most Silver Coins Found
2-WAY TIE- demodigger and silversanta: 2 each
It turned out there were only 3 different dates in all ... LOL ... When I travel I'll take 4 or 5 with me and put them back into circulation ...

You're in the same neck of the woods as I am (Chelmsford)! During the big "Spot the million-dollar V nickel" frenzy of last year I circulated around a hundred of these; almost all problem coins. I wonder if one made it to Mansfield?
Cheers,
Bob
