Raw coins...playing with the camera

Learning to use the camera here...

This is a raw 94-S Nickel that I got at the local coin shop. I think I paid 2 or 3 dollars for it.

Nice! If it's not toned yellow, I'd say your white balance is a bit off.

I'll go with APnut a little yellow. Try a little less light or diferent type of light and a higher F stop to get a little more depth of field. Proof's are the pit's to get right on. Good luck.

Maybe this is a little better on the light...still not perfect though

    Are these untouched images?

Highlight seems off, losing detail, yellow cast, but getting there.

What is your lighting set-up like?

The cin has a bit of a yellow alb tone to it.

Two lights side by side...one of the left and one on the right. 100mm lense...for the cam. As far as working with the photo I adjusted the levels a bit to try and take care of the off-yellow color. The coin does have a yellow tint to it though.

It looks to me like your white balance is set for daylight, but you are shooting under incandescent light. That gives everything a yellow cast. If you can't change the white balance you can use a flash as the dominant light source. That will get rid of the yellow.
