Before PCGS was also a time before eBay, before the internet took off. I'm sure most coins were sold & bought from the local coin shop. $30 & 2 weeks will make that coin.
gee, i wonder what they did before pcgs? I guess they didnt sell coins.
Newbies did not sell $3000 coins sight-unseen to avid collectors they did not know, that's for sure.
You offered an 1887-O Morgan in MS-65 (your grade opinion, with a scan) for $3000. Trends in 64 is $450 and in 65 is $5000. Why would you think that people who know coins would purchase such a coin from a guy who last week asked for advice here on how to turn $2000 buying and selling coins? Do you think we are that charitable?

Cary Not true; but the new owner would have the same struggles trying to resell that coin raw as you seem to be having. Not everyone needs to have PCGS legitimze their choices but at $3K you have already eliminated 99.99% of potential buyers. I would either slab it or try to flip it at a show where the buyer can actually see it in hand.
