OK guys...what is it? The dealer said lamination after strike. I think it's struck thru.

Try weighing it on a good scale. If it is full weight, then it is a "strike-thru." If it is a 'leetle' low in weight, it's a 'Split-off lamination." Just MHO and US $0.02 worth...

It's struck through IMHO due to some die evdence in the incused area. I'm trying to think what though----a .44 cal. bullet shell? Hard to figure this one, interesting coin.

I vote lamination because of the scratches in the area. Looks to me like someone pried the laminated part up and off.

Hmmm....I have one that I always thought was a lamination, but you guys got me thinking strikethrough. What do you guys think of this? (It's on a 1891S, but figured it would be a waste of space to post the obverse).

Very nice and impressive error! My vote would be struck through, although it could be lamination. I would have to see it in person to make a final judgement call.

Your coin is not lamination. It is struck through-most likely grease. Also very nice.

As if my opinion matters, Almost looks like the impression of a Seated Liberty design, I guess it all depends on how you look at it, it is a cool coin............neat find.....
