Added a Pop 1 Coin to my $10 Indians!

Picked up the one and only MS67 $10 1909-s today. The coin was originally offered in the B&M Sale back in March at Baltimore. I thought it was priced too high so I stopped bidding. Now I paid 50% more for it but it belongs in my set.

BTW, I have a gorgeous MS66 available if anyone wants to buy a tough date. In MS66 it is pop 4 with only the MS67 as better! PM me if interested!

You have a nice set of Indians. Beautiful series ! Will you be bidding at the Fun Auction ? I just noticed the PCGS all time finest, 12 piece gold type set, ( Paul Taylor ), is being auctioned and has a $10 1908-S MS 68 in that auction. Don't see too many MS 68 $10 Indians, so how do you determine a value ?. I have an estimated figure in my head, so I will be tracking the coin to see if I am within $20,000 of the auction price.

The 1908-s is one of those dates where there are lots of high quality examples and Akers refers to it as perhaps the best produced $10 Indian as to quality and overall eye appeal. I have very much taken an "investors" view to coins as I just started building my sets this year. I have avoided the MS67/MS68 of the common dates unless the value was there. Those are the coins that bring crazy money and that you will never come out on. I have tried to focus on the key dates in the highest grade I could find and not really worry about the common dates. My 1908 Motto is a MS64 which will probably upgrade to a 65. That coin exists higher as well but the 1908-s is the one you can find in MS67 or MS68.
