What did you submit for your quarterly freebie?

I just see that my quarterly submission was been entered into the system. Logged today. I, like many of you, never got an email notifying me it has been entered. Now I just have to wait......image

Haven't submitted anything yet; am considering submitting a MS-65+ 1938 Buffalo with some nice even pink toning on it.

My 1909 VDB Lincoln came back in a bag for the same reason. Better luck next quarter, I guess.

Yes, 1938 Buffalos are included. I'd leave it in the ANACS if I were you, though.

  • I sent in a 1938D Buffalo 5c. It came back MS64. I was sure it was going MS65 or MS66 but missed two carbon spots on the reverse. The coin has really nice golden rosy color, a great strike, and great surface preservation, but those carbon spots killed.

I sent a 1916-S Mercury dime that was in a circ. roll I bought recently for $24.

I'm guessing it will grade Good-04. image
    When in doubt, don't.
  • Dumb question: do you have to keep track of the quarterly specials yourself, or are you all notified. Been a member for a long time, never been made aware of them. Current one runs until the end of the month? Thanks.

  • You have to find the quarterly submission yourself. Check here:

As for my submission, a 1921-D, what else could I send image

Check the thread here for how I did:

    Rob:

What other dollar was made in Denver in 1921 that would allow a '21-D Morgan to qualify for the free grading special?

Peace dollars were made in 1921, but not in Denver.
    When in doubt, don't.

  • I sent in an 1878-CC Morgan which came back VF-35. Nothing high-grade or valuable, but that's what I like about the quarterly freebie -- it's a chance for me to send in a coin that I may not otherwise submit (such as this one for sentimental purposes).
