I vaguely recall getting these commems at the San Franciso mint in 1973. They commemorate the 100 year anniversary of the Cable Cars (1873-1973). I have two of them and they're still sealed in cello. With Silver jumping to $8, I got motivated and went digging around and found these two .... they are just slightly smaller than a silver eagle in diameter and slightly thicker. They sound like they're silver but there's no markings on them. Anyone familiar with these pieces?

I have a bronze medal of the same type.
The one I have is in a cardboard holder wrapped in plastic.
It`s labled as ..Lucky cable car coin, limited edition.
The front of the coin depicts a trolley car cresting a hill and the rev. is a portrait of Andrew S. Hallidie, the father of the cable trolley system.
On the back of the holder it reads:
Legend has it that Andrew Hallidie, born in 1836 was moved to invent the cable system by compassion for the beasts that supplied the power for the old horse cars. The legend goes that in 1869 he watched a team of 4 horses stuggling on the slippery cobbles to haul a fully laden car up a steep hill. When one of the horses fell, the car rolled back, dragging all 4 horses behind it. Hallidie vowed to stop such cruelty. in 1872 he won a franchise to build the worlds first cable railway and on August 1st., 1873 the world`s 1st. cable car made it`s maiden run down Clay Street with Hallidie at the grip.
