1997 Lincoln Cent DDO?

First photo was taken with coin at its normal orientation.

image

Second was taken at an angle.

image

Almost the whole obverse....I took these pics with my Qx3.

Is it a true DDO? Any opinions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance!

No...it's only on the earlobe. What you're seeing on LIBERTY is just an out of focus pic...image

Peg, I just checked the coneca variety listings site, and there is a 1997 1c ddo 1-O- IV & VIII, spread on lower earlobe, and is fs-043. Congrats!

    worth around 100-125.00 in MS65

  • Thanks for the scans! Tried the Qx3 at 60x and 200x for the markers, but the spots are just to grainy to clearly see anything. Then I used a 15x loupe and I believe I can see them....but I'm still not sure. The coin came out of circulation and isn't the cleanest.

    Anyway, thanks again!

I can't tell by your images whether you have the right die. Your closeups are cropped too close and your full shot is not lit right to be able to tell from it.

Not sure if this will help...If not it's back to the ol' drawing board. image

Yup, it helped...your coin is a normal one. Not a doubled die.

A definitive attribution should be done by someone with coin in hand.
