For some reason, 1878's, of all varieties, have some of the most unusual and often interesting toning of any of the Morgan series. Forum member WWW is our resident expert on that date and can show you any number of examples of this date with unusual toning.

The 78's, as Bryan has mentioned offer some unusual toning patterns. Here's one of mine,
also an 8 tail feather that has album and envelope toning. Too bad it's only a NGC MS62,
but I'll take what I can get, when I can afford to get it.
