I overheard a conversation at the Santa Clara show about a guy who made a hobo nickel out of a Jefferson, it turned out as an Indian chief in full headress. I wish I could have seen it.

Did you carve a larger denomination coin recently(within the last year) that sold on e-bay?
If you did a pic. would be great. If I remember correct it went for well
over $300. Joe
<< <i>BILLZACH. I knew that name sounded familar.

This one is a Morgan $ that sold for a little over $280
I was tempted to bid on it but did not pull the trigger. I know the modern
pieces command a nice premimum but I would love to have a couple of
the ones carved say in the 20 and 30's.

Another carver and nice guy is Joe Pezak, I met him at the Phx. show and learned enough about the art to know I don't have the talent. I bought a handful of simple designs to give away and a more serious piece for the collection. Cool stuff. I like the morgan piece.
Awesome artwork Bill!

<< <i>Bill, Could I ask you to carve a Morgan dollar
with the figuere of a pharmacist on one side.
If that is not possible, I liked the figuere of a
Civil War Soldier. Please let me know how much and how long.
Thanks, Abe >>
Might want to send him a PM.
I just recieved a carving that Bill did on a Seated Liberty Half yesterday. All I have to say is Amazing.

I own two of Bob Shamey's hobo nickels. Another very good artisan and a helluva nice guy.
