ALBANIA GOLD SKANDERBEG 1927V, 20 FRANGA, BUST OF GEORGE KASTRIOTI “SKANDERBEG” NATIONAL LEADER OF ALBANIA 1443-68 PRIOR TO THE TAKEOVER BY THE TURKS, REVERSE WINGED LION. WHEN GOLD COIN WAS STRUCK, ALBANIA WAS RULED BY PRESIDENT AHMED BEY ZOGU. DESIGNER: G.ROMAGNOLI, MINTMARK V(FOR THE VIENNA, AUSTRIA MINT).

KM 12, FR 6, ONLY 5,053 PCS MINTED. WEIGHT: 6.4516 GMS, .900 FINE GOLD, .1867 OUNCE AGW.

    I almost binned that one myself, but had funds tied up elsewhere. I think the obverse is quit striking also.

    Awesome design and coin, boz!! I think this one Cosmic will have to be in love with, as it contains both eagles and lions, all in on creature!

    The Albanians sure have some primo designs! Seems odd to me that Vienna should use a 'V' mintmark instead of 'W' for Wien.
