PHUT's ethics,or lack thereof

HTubbsHTubbs Posts: 4,138 ✭✭✭
As many of you know I was accused of selling misrepresented coins on this thread by Tim Blake (PHUT)
ethics
I then told my side of the story on my own thread:
Ethics and Mr. T
Now he said he was going to mail out the coins on Tuesday Oct. 14th, in his PM reply:

<< <i>Thank you Hayden.
I'll let the thread fade with no names and I will have the coins in the mail on Tuesday. >>

I waited almost 2 weeks and as I had not recieved the coins I sent him a PM on the 21st:

<< <i>Tim,
I haven't received the coins yet,if you already shipped them out disregard the rest of the PM.

If you haven't shipped them out(I'll be able to tell by the postmark) don't bother,I gave you over an extra week to mail them out,and I'm not going to refund the money as it's been almost a month since you were supposed to return the coins!

>>

I never got any reply so I sent him another PM on Nov. 1st:

<< <i>You did mail the coins out before the 21st of October, right?
-Hayden
>>

Still no reply so I sent him another on the 5th:

<< <i>Tim,
You said you were going to the coins back weeks ago,I haven't received them.
Did you mail them out before the 21st?
-Hayden
>>

He finally replied:

<< <i>Hayden,
Not sending them back.. Lesson learned. Life marches on.
>>

Uhh,excuse me????????
For someone who was whining about other people's ethics, it appears he has never considered his own!
He claimed the 2 MS-65 Washingtons I sold him were only AU-58s,accused me of being a scammer ,and slammed me for telling him he could not return them because it was over a week past the end of my return policy. Now it appears that he was never planning on returning them!!!!!

Unofortunately,I was the one who got the problems of this whole ordeal.I lost over $1,000 due to several people who canceled orders, and one member who said he would like to do a "sample order" before purchasing the rest of his $600 order[This member was satified with the coins he bought but I haven't heard back from him concerning the rest of his order];all because of the bad publicity this has caused me.

And one last thing, upon receipt of the coins I was to refund Earl his money but since I'm not going to receive the coins it appears he has been duped out of his money!

Now who do you say is the scammer?

With all due respect, HTubbs IMO does have the right to be at least a little miffed over how this was handled by PHUT.

  • I thought that everyone was over this.

Phut sent the coins to me a little while ago. I have to say in Phut's defense that the coins do not meet the criteria for the grades that were given. If anyone is out anything it would be me.

I have decided that this was a lesson learned. Phut got a different shipment of coins from me for the exchange, I paid HTubbs the monies with the coins unseen. I am therefore the one who is out the money. If people have cancelled orders, that is between the purchasers and the seller. I am now in the mind that I am not purchasing any coins sight unseen to use for an exchange.

I am not a professional by any means but I can tell if a coin has been circulated or not and these definately had been.

Phut posted the coins in another thread and those were critiqued by various members of the forum who stated their opinions from the pictures.

Now that I have the coins in hand, I will post different pics in different lighting for anyone who feels the need to drag this on any further but it will be the last say that I have in this issue.

Thanks for bleaking my already crappy day at work.
This is a very dumb ass thread. - Laura Sperber - Tuesday January 09, 2007 11:16 AM image

Hell, I don't need to exercise.....I get enough just pushing my luck.
  • HTubbs,

I thought you wanted this issue to die... and now you're picking the old scab? I don't get it!

After your told your side of the thread, folks on here were pretty understanding, and your positive reputation, at least in my mind remained in tact. Now you issue this attack as some sort of revenge or need to point out a perceived contradiction in PHUT's behavior..... I don't see the point.

Maybe you should just let sleeping dogs lie? I think things were better off that way.
