The game isn't over yet .... George may just run out give a big fat check to a free agent in the hopes of a rally.

I'd whine about this being off-topic, but I can't say that for sure, since I have no idea what the topic is... imageimage

  • I'm a huge Yankee fan, but I wouldn't mind seeing the sox win for a change. Besides the Yanks have far exceeded my expectations of them this year. They simply have no pitching. It was awful from spring training right up to tonites probable loss.
If they lose tonite, which seems likely, it will be because of pitching. It cost them games 4 & 5.
They made major league history this year, being the first team to win 100 or more games and not have a 15 game winner. It's been patchwork all season and patchwork doesn't win in the playoffs.
Besides the winner may have to play Houston and they just may be this years team of destiny, the Astros are playing great.

When I found out tonight that KB was starting vs Lowe, my heart sank. I felt that Lowe would pitch well, and that Brown would not. Did not realize that Lowe would pitch *that* well, and that Brown would stink so much!!!

  • My hats off to the Red Sox.
They could have folded up their tents after game 3.
They were on a thin thread of hope, and never gave up.
    Congrats, they have made history!

Go Sox! Whadda great story! The cursed team comes from behind to eclipse the overcapitalized traditional winners, bloody-ankled pitcher and all. I haven't felt so good about baseball since the Minnesota Twinkies last won the World Series (1991).

I live in Chicago, but am less interested in when the Cubs or White Sox might pull out a Cinderella story than I am interested in reading about an under-capitalized coin collector making waves in the registry set competition. If George Steinbrenner decides to collect coins instead of baseball players, might he merit a pedigree in the next couple of years?

A Yankee-less world series these days is as refreshing and unlikely as a #1 registry set completed by submitting raw coins or crossovers. I'm rooting for the underdog despite the odds.

I too am in Chicago - and the only way I could be happier with a baseball outcome such as this is if my cubbies were to have met the bosox in the WS this year - good luck to them! image
